New Directions Appoint Compliance Apprentice
New Directions Holdings Ltd have appointed a second Apprentice to join our fast growing company. The Apprentice; Rachel Harrington, has been offered the role of Trainee Compliance Administrator. Rachel will predominately be responsible supporting the Compliance Team with the pre-employment screening of all our candidates across the Group, including Education, Social Care, Care and Support and Pharmacy. Apprenticeships are becoming increasingly popular in the business sector. Careers Wales via the Welsh Government, offer funding to help young people aged 16-25 find employment, develop their skills, and complete work based training resulting in qualifications. Whilst Rachel is appointed as a Trainee, she will be completing an NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration via Talk Training.
Phil O’Brien, Business Development Manager for Talk Training is an advocate of apprenticeships “Welsh Government Funded schemes like apprenticeships and Young Recruits Programme are a great way for businesses in Wales to access extra ways to employ young people with help towards their wages. Talk Training have helped businesses in South Wales to recruit over 100 young people in 2013. These people will also have the opportunity to complete a relevant work-based qualification with us”.
Speaking of her new role, Rachel says “I applied for my Apprenticeship on Careers Wales. It’s an exciting way for someone such as myself who has no previous experience in Compliance Administration to develop and begin a new career. What’s wonderful about this opportunity is that it will give me the chance to do a new role and open doors into the recruitment world as well as being able to do an NVQ”.
