New Directions shortlisted for two REC Awards
We’re absolutely thrilled to be shortlisted in not just one, but two categories of the Recruitment & Employment Confederation (REC) Awards 2021.
The annual REC Awards, now in its 12th year, will celebrate the best of the recruitment industry. After the turbulence of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, these awards give us a great reason to showcase the excellent feats achieved during extraordinary times.
There are 14 categories to recognise individual and company-side successes, and we’re delighted to see two of our brilliant employees shortlisted for the following:
- Gary Williams, Group Sales Director | Business Leader of the Year
- Alex Rowlands, Group HR Manager | COVID Champion of the Year
Jeff Tune, Chair of the New Directions Group, said:
“We’re very proud of our people at New Directions and that’s because we have plenty of reasons to be. For Gary and Alex to be shortlisted for the REC Awards is testament to the inspirational impact they’ve made across the Group. They have both, in their own areas, gone above and beyond for our internal and external stakeholders, which has never been as important as over the last 18 months.
“Gary has been absolutely integral to the growth of New Directions and in particular New Directions Education. Being shortlisted for Business Leader of the Year is thoroughly deserved for the immeasurable support he’s given to our employees, candidates, clients and communities in that time, and I’m proud to have worked with him for over 20 years.
“And as difficult as the pandemic has been for many people and organisations, we’re lucky that we went through it with Alex’s thoughtful, sensitive approach to providing well-being support to our employees. Alex and her team put our employees needs first during such difficult times and it did not go unrecognised.”
Speaking on the Awards, Neil Carberry, Chief Executive of the REC, said:
“The REC Awards are recruitment’s night of celebration. From helping tackle unemployment, to keeping your business on the road, to helping clients facing unprecedented challenges – you’ve made a big difference over a tumultuous year. It’s time to recognise all of that, and share the pride we all have in an industry that is at the heart of the recovery!”
The awards ceremony has 14 categories and it will take place on 25 November 2021. The industry will be brought together to showcase the best in recruitment at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London, one of Europe’s leading venues.
At New Directions, it’s our priority to empower our people and teams across the business, enabling them to achieve their potential. Sound like somewhere you want to work?
