New Directions Education at ASCL Conference 2013
This year’s Association of School and College Leaders (ASCL) Conference has been hailed as a resounding success. The two-day event held on the 15th and 16th March at London’s Hilton Metropole in Edgeware Road was attended by over 1,100 delegates. The event hosted a number of high profile speakers including the Secretary of State and the Director General of the CBI.
New Directions Education Director of Business Development, Gary Williams addressed the delegates on behalf of his company who sponsored the wine for the evening. Speaking after the event Gary said ‘Our business has had a 12 year association with ASCL in Wales were New Directions Education began. We are delighted to extend the relationship across the water into England. We want to nurture the regional links to encourage the same partnerships we have in Wales. Our teams are looking forward to working with ASCL in 2013 and beyond’.
Stuart Ash, a former Head Teacher from the North West of England, and now Business Development Officer for New Directions added ‘We thoroughly enjoyed hearing first hand from colleagues across the UK about the challenges and issues facing leadership teams within the sector. Our objective is to offer recruitment and training support to enhance their offer to their communities.’
In 2014 the ASCL Conference will be held in Birmingham. The New Directions Education team are looking forward to supporting the event on an on-going basis.
