Jessica Sibley Donates a day at Hywel Dda Primary School
As part of New Directions Educations donate a day campaign, staff have been donating a day to a local school.
On Thursday the 26th September Jessica Sibley from the Special Educational Needs Department in New Directions took a break from her office desk to lend a hand at Hywel Dda Primary school. The school is one Jessica regularly works with to supply staff.
Jessica helped out in their Year 2 class supervising the children with their reading skills. Jessica listened to children read on a one to one basis providing feedback to the teacher about the level of understanding the children had of the books they read.
Jessica commented ‘Donate a day has been a fantastic opportunity for me to give something back to the school, it has also helped me understand how the school operates. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the school and look forward to having the opportunity to come back to the school. Also I now have a better insight and understanding on how extremely hard all the learning support assistants and staff work at the school.
Sian Voyce, Head teacher at Hywel Dda added ‘here at Hywel Dda we hope Jessica enjoyed her time at the school, we really enjoyed having her here and would be happy to have her back again.
