New Directions Eco Award – Llanwern High Presentation Evening
On the 26th September, New Directions were proud to be invited to attend Llanwern High’s first ever Student Presentation Evening, after working in partnership with Llanwern High for the last 12 months.
The evening was arranged to award those students who had excelled in academic subjects and sports, as well as some surprise awards on the night for excellent exam results, pupil of the year, Photography Award and Overall Achievement.
The school choir provided some musical items on the night, and local dignitary, The Mayor of Newport, and ex pupil, Olympian Christian Malcolm gave some motivational speeches before presenting awards to the pupils.
Phil Indge Account Manager at New Directions presented the New Directions Eco Award to a very happy, and surprised Chloe Thomas. Chloe was recognised as she continues to put so much effort into keeping the general allotment areas around Llanwern High in excellent condition, and even gave up her free time in the Summer Holidays as she is so passionate to the cause.
Phil had a great time at the School and commented “the evening created such a positive feeling about the school and all it has achieved in the last 12 months. Holding an Award Evening like this will help to encourage the pupils excel in their school and personal life, and with the brilliant facilities and staff at Llanwern High, that can only be a good thing looking to the future”.
Llanwern High’s Head Teacher, Peter Jenkins, thanked New Directions Education for sponsoring and presenting the Eco Award, and continues to see New Directions as a key partner in the success of Llanwern High.
