The Final Kick off for Tranmere Boys Tournament
Tonight sees the final of the Tranmere Primary Boys Football Tournament, the tournament has running for several weeks with 34 school teams taking part from Ellesmere port and The Wirral. The tournament has been of a very high standard with the teams battling it out to make it to the next rounds. There has been some exceptional football skills on display from the budding footballers.
New Directions Education in Liverpool have sponsored the competition this year as part of their commitment to supporting their local community.
Jen Morrison s Account Manager at New Directions Education who has worked with Tranmere and the local schools to help make the tournament possible commented “ The tournament has been a huge success again this year. the standard of play has been impressive and all the teams in the final very much deserve to be there, I am looking forward to seeing who the final winners are. It has been a pleasure working alongside both staff and pupils at all schools involved and having attended all of the qualifying rounds I was pleased to see such good team spirits. The team at Tranmere Rovers have been great, they are so passionate about football and encourage the children to develop their skills and expertise. I would like to say a big thank you to everyone that got involved and lets see what tonight’s results bring! Good Luck everyone! “

The teams who will be taking part in tonight’s final include St Joseph’s Catholic Primary in Birkenhead, Christ the King Primary and Somerville Primary,Gayton Primary , Poulton Lancelyn Primary, Woodlands Primary in Ellesmere Port, Our Lady Star of the Sea , Woodchurch Road Primary and Higher Bebington Junior School.
The final will see the culmination of an exciting tournament, Kick Off is 4pm today at Pensby Boys Astro Turf. New Directions Education staff will be attending the final to cheer on the winning teams.
