New Directions Education Achieves Audited Education Status
New Directions Education Ltd has become one of the first cohorts of recruitment and training providers in the UK to achieve the REC Audited Education status.
The award is a replacement for the former Department for Education (DfE) quality mark which was dissolved last year. REC Audited Education ensures safeguarding and that agencies are undertaking all the relevant checks when recruiting teachers. REC Audited Education will enable schools and education providers to be confident that they are using an accredited supplier, who puts standards at the centre of their business.
The audit goes way beyond just compliance, requiring agencies to demonstrate that they operate best practice in areas such as customer service, staff development, diversity and client management.
Speaking about achieving the accreditation, Leah Seltzer, Group Head of Compliance for New Directions said ‘It’s incredibly rewarding to know that New Directions have been accredited with the ‘gold standard in recruitment’ status. As a business we have always regarded safeguarding and compliance as the heart of our business; so to be awarded this accreditation is great recognition of our high standards’.
The New Directions team met with the REC team at their head office in Cardiff throughout May to undergo the thorough audit. Andrew Stocks, Group Project Manager for the business added ‘This process really realigned what we already knew as a business. Our compliance and safeguarding procedures are second-to-none; but also our commitment to our own staff and every other stakeholder in our business is never compromised. We are exceptionally proud to lead the way for education recruitment’.
REC chief executive Kevin Green added ‘Congratulations to New Directions Education for achieving the gold standard in recruitment. They join an elite group of agencies across the UK who have been recognised for operating the very best practice in education recruitment.
“The aim of our scheme is to give headteachers peace of mind that they are working with an accredited supplier. By earning the right to display the REC Audited Education logo, New Directions Education can assure schools, parents and pupils that the staff they supply are recruited properly and have on-going support’.
