Tycroes gets Arty
Lauren Webb Account Manager at New Directions Education was lucky enough to be invited to Tycroes’ first ever Art Exhibition, and what talent was on show! All of the children from nursery to KS2 had their work displayed and offered for sale to their families.
The exhibition project, run in conjunction with local company Images Art, aims to encourage art at a primary level and promote parental involvement in school life. The pupils are encouraged to produce pictures on a range of subjects, taking inspiration from their favourite cartoons, hobbies, nature, and even abstract patterns. They are allowed to work with different media from pencil and paints to collage, and their work is professionally framed and displayed.
Mr Wood the school’s Headmaster was enthusiastic about the project, and commented “although there is a great deal of focus on numeracy and literacy, a well-rounded education should focus on more than just these skills. The exhibition proved to be a great way of getting parents involved in their children’s school lives and helping to fundraise for the school by buying their children’s work.”
Tycroes are already talking about their next art show, which they are hoping will be later this year. I for one am very excited to see what fresh talent will be on display.
