Girls score high in under 11’s football tournament
New Directions Education teamed up with Cardiff City Foundation to host another exciting football tournament for under 11yrs girls schools teams in the Cardiff area. A total of 57 teams from 47 schools participated in the three-day tournament.
Eight teams made it to the final group stages today, where they battled it out in 12 minute matches throughout the morning in which four teams to made it to the semi-finals, which were:
Millbank Vs Radyr and Dolau Vs Coryton
The semi-finals games were very closely matched. The girls kept up a ferocious pace throughout, not stopping until the final whistle blew. In the end only one goal decided who the winning teams would be…

In the finals Millbank Primary School faced off against Dolau Primary School. Millbank soon gained the advantage scoring the deciding goal early on in the match, after a few close calls from both sides, Millbank went onto win with the 1-0 defeat.
New Directions Education would like to say well done to all the teams that played in the three-day tournament, you all played exceptionally well!
Finally, congratulations to the winners; Millbank Primary School, who will go onto be entered in the winner’s tournament in May 2019.
