We are delighted to announce the launch of the 2019 Cardiff City FC Foundation & EFL Utilita Girls Cup in partnership with New Directions Education.
The one-day tournament taking place on 24th October provides secondary school girls between the ages of 11 and 13 with the opportunity to take part in an exciting, competitive and enjoyable tournament run by the official charity of Cardiff City Football Club, in partnership with New Directions Education.
This much anticipated annual event is a highlight of the sporting academic year for schools across the region. Kelly Storer, Regional Manager for New Directions Education comments we are delighted to be able to once more support this competition. I am personally overwhelmed each year with the quality of talent we see on the pitch, and the real sense of sportsmanship between the competing teams. The winners of the EFL Utilitia U13 Girls competition will progress to represent Cardiff City FC in the regional finals that are due to take place in Bristol at the beginning of 2020, with the opportunity to potentially play in a grand final at Wembley Stadium.

The Tournament will be held at Cardiff International Sports Campus Outdoor 3G Pitch in Cardiff, on 24th October 2019.
Each school can register two teams. Please use the form below to book your place in the tournament. Each team consists of a maximum of eight players with the tournament taking a six-a-side structure with two substitutes per team.
On the day, team registration is open from 9.00-9.45am. Please arrive promptly for the teachers’ briefing at 9.45am, ready for kick-off at 10.00am. The tournament will finish at approximately 2.00pm.
Suitable footwear must be worn – no metal studs or bladed soles, moulded studs and trainers only. Shin pads MUST be worn. Please bring warm clothing as well as enough food and drink to keep you going throughout the day.
