An Introduction to Psychosis and Eating Disorders with David Lewis
This session builds on our previous learning on Mental Health, Depression, Anxiety and Substance Use but is open to candidates who haven’t attended previous sessions. During this session, we will explore the topic of Psychosis and the conditions where it can arise and then we shall look at Eating Disorders.
* Candidates should be aware that the session deals with some very sensitive topics and some of the material covered may be distressing.
About the speaker
David was a senior school leader for 30 years and Headteacher at two primary schools for 23 years . He spent much of his career working in deprived areas across in South East Wales. As a headteacher David was passionate about giving all learners the best possible experiences in all areas of learning. His schools have always had a great sense of fun, whilst remaining uncompromising on standards.
At the start of the Covid 19 pandemic David was instrumental in establishing the Welsh language key worker child care Hub in Caerffili County Borough. His experience of observing the impact of the pandemic on children’s wellbeing prompted him to change the direction of his career and since the start of 2022 he has worked in Children’s Safeguarding and Mental Health First Aid.
