Apprentice Finalist Helps Manchester Students Sales Skills
On Tuesday May 22 budding entrepreneurs at Broad Oak primary school in Manchester were given a chance to pitch their ideas to a select team of teachers and members of the television show Trade Your Ways.
The initiative hopes to educate pupils on skills such as selling techniques and understanding profit margins. The challenge is touring the UK and will visit 72 schools in seven cities, and will give 10,000 children business tips.
At Broad Oak the day got underway with a question and answer session with the show’s host Saira Khan who was also a runner up on television show The Apprentice. The pupils then participated in a workshop session before pitching their ideas to the panel.
Broad Oak Primary use New Directions exclusively to supply them with teachers. Branch Manager Amanda Stothard comments: ‘This was a great opportunity for the pupils to put into play some of the key sales techniques they learnt on the day. Learning through real experience is something we all value’.
