As a Key Stage 2 teacher, your role will be vital in shaping and inspiring the minds of young learners, guiding them towards academic success and personal growth.

– Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons that meet the requirements of the Key Stage 2 curriculum, ensuring differentiation to cater to all learners’ needs.
– Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel motivated, supported, and encouraged to reach their full potential.
– Utilise effective teaching strategies and resources to engage students in active learning, promoting critical thinking, problem-solving, and independent learning skills.

Requirements:
– Comprehensive knowledge of the Key Stage 2 curriculum, including assessment methods and strategies.
– Effective communication skills and the ability to establish positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
– Patient, empathetic, and committed to creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
– Enthusiasm for teaching and a passion for inspiring children to become lifelong learners.

As a primary school key stage 2 teacher you’ll be expected to:

  • Teach all areas of the school curriculum or your subject specialism
  • Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment
  • Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges
  • Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation
  • Maintain discipline
  • Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development
  • Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
  • Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
  • Take part in school events and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening
  • Liaise with colleagues and working flexibly, particularly within smaller schools
