New Directions are delighted to be working alongside schools in the Caerphilly area, who are seeking Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTA’s) for daily/long term cover.

This role is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant to take on a higher level of responsibility within a supportive environment to motivate and encourage students to show ambition, maximise their potential and embrace all aspects of school life and to develop a wide-ranging skill set.

We expect you to exhibit a passion for raising student expectations and achievements by performing the requirements below:

• Delivering pre-planned lessons to ensure continuity of Education during Teacher absence.
• Supporting pupils’ learning activities.
• Managing classroom behaviour and ensuring a positive learning environment
• Working collaboratively with Teaching staff and contributing to the planning and preparation of activities.
• Providing feedback to Teachers on pupils’ progress and any issues encountered.
• Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum.
• Take part in school events and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening.
• Liaise with colleagues and working flexibly, particularly within smaller schools
