Job Description

New Directions are seeking compassionate Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistants to join our team in the Bridgend area. As a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with diverse learning needs to achieve their full potential in a mainstream primary school setting.

Responsibilities:

• Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with special educational needs in the classroom.
• Assist the classroom teacher in implementing individualised education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
• Adapt teaching materials and activities to meet the unique needs and abilities of each pupil.

Requirements:

• Experience working with students with special educational needs is highly desirable.
• A relevant qualification is preferred but not essential.
• Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Differentiate learning tasks accordingly.
