New Directions are looking for a Qualified Teaching Assistant for an exciting opportunity at a Primary School on the Wirral!

Are you a dedicated and qualified Teaching Assistant with a Level 2 qualification or above, experienced in supporting pupils with diverse needs in Year 5 and Year 3? A welcoming primary school on the Wirral is looking for a compassionate individual to join their team full-time, providing essential one-to-one support to students with speech and language needs and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). This position is available immediately and is ongoing on a week-by-week basis.

Essential Requirements:
– Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or above
– Experience in supporting pupils with speech and language needs and ASD
– Understanding of working across Year 5 and Year 3 classrooms

Key Responsibilities:
– Provide tailored one-to-one support to students in Year 5 and Year 3
– Implement strategies to support pupils with speech and language difficulties and ASD
– Collaborate with teachers to create inclusive learning environments

  • Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the head teacher, ALNCO and class teachers

  • Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities
  • Assist class teachers with maintaining student records
  • Support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills
