Job Description:
New Directions are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Primary School Support Buddy to join our supply team, working in primary schools across Manchester. As a Support Buddy you will provide invaluable support to teachers and students, ensuring that children with diverse learning needs have access to a quality education. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about helping children thrive in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities of a Primary School Support Buddy:

• Assist with the delivery of tailored learning activities to support students’ individual needs.
• Provide one-on-one and small group support to children with learning difficulties or disabilities.
• Support the teacher in maintaining classroom discipline and creating a positive learning environment.
• Help children with tasks, activities, and materials to support their development.
• Foster a caring, supportive, and encouraging relationship with all students.
• Support with classroom organization, preparation, and general administration tasks.
• Help children with physical or emotional needs and assist with their personal care, if required.

Requirements:

• Experience working with children, ideally in a primary school setting, is preferred but not essential.
• Experience in a form of childcare is required.
• A strong desire to help children achieve their potential, with a compassionate and patient approach.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
• A flexible and reliable attitude with the ability to adapt to different school environments.
