Part-time SEMH Teacher
Manchester
Part-time (2 days)
Immediate Start
£240-£360 per week based on 2 working days (PAYE – No Umbrella Company)

This well respected SEMH school is based in Manchester is looking to recruit a Part-time SEMH Teacher to work with KS3 students with a range of additional needs. This role is based across several sites and therefore a driver is essential for the function of this role. This specialist setting caters for secondary aged learners with SEMH & Complex Needs; most students are on the autism spectrum with speech, language and communication needs. Strong Senior Leaders have created a calm, structured learning environment where their students thrive. Small specialist classes are well staffed and resourced throughout the setting.

The ideal Part-time SEMH Teacher will have experience of teaching Maths and English to Functional Skills level.

As an Part-time SEMH Teacher you’ll be expected to:

  • Teach a range of core subjects to KS3
  • Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment.
  • Have a strong understanding of SEMH and Complex Needs
  • Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges.
  • Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation.
  • Maintain discipline.
  • Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupil’s development.
  • Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area.
  • Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum.
  • Liaise with colleagues and working flexibly, particularly within smaller schools.
  • Work across a number of sites in Manchester (driving is essential)

To apply the candidate must have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Knowledge of the English National Curriculum
  • Able to provide Referees.
  • An up-to-date DBS Check (or be willing to obtain one)
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Experience in the Education and Training sector
