New Directions Education is recruiting for a SEMH Keyworker for a well regarded SEMH School in North Manchester. This role is full-time and ongoing until the end of the academic year.
The ideal SEMH Keyworker will have experience working with secondary aged students with SEMH & Complex Needs. The ideal SEMH Keyworker will have an ability to forge solid working relationships with disadvantaged students with barriers to learning. A strong understanding of de-escalating challenging behaviour is also essential. Team Teach qualification is desirable but not essential as this is training New Directions offers its candidates.
SEMH Keyworker applicants are encouraged to apply if they have like for like experience or have experience working with learners with SEMH needs in mainstream settings, social work, support work, youth work or sports coaching.
• Have SEMH experience working in the care, social work, youth work, coaching or education sector
• Be outgoing, fun and engaging
• Willing to support children of all abilities and needs
• Have experience of behaviour management and de-escalation
• Have a positive and ambitious attitude to learning
• Experience in the education and training sector
