New Directions is working with one of its long-standing SEMH Schools in Manchester that is looking for a full-time SEMH Teacher (8.30am-4pm, 5 days a week) to join its ranks in the upcoming weeks. The ideal SEMH Teacher will have experience working in SEMH settings or SEMH experience within a mainstream settings.
The SEMH Teacher will have full-time teaching responsibilities working across a number of different classes KS3-4 in the school. This is a cover role so the SEMH Teacher will be expected to work on supply throughout the school covering lessons throughout the week KS3-4.
This well regarded SEMH School caters for secondary aged learners – and has a real emphasis on teaching and learning, with many commenting on the calm environment Senior Leaders have created for its students. Small, well resourced classrooms throughout the school – ensure learning is targeted and bespoke to the needs of the individual. The school also have a good alternative provision offer for its students as they engage in alternative learning opportunity on and off site.
• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (or QTLS)
• Have recent secondary experience in either SEMH settings or mainstream schools
• Strong understanding of SEMH & Complex Needs
• Have experience of behaviour management and de-escalation
• Have a positive and ambitious attitude to learning
• Teaching experience in the education and training sector
