Happy 50th Birthday Lakeside Primary

Lakeside Primary celebrated their 50^th anniversary by going back in time and exploring history over the last five decades.

The school celebrated their 50th anniversary by inviting pupils, staff and the community of Lakeside Primary to come together and relive the past 50 years. New Directions Education who have enjoyed working with the school for many years were also invited to take part in the festivities.

Head Teacher Elizabeth Counsell commented “The celebrations were an unforgettable experience for all members of the school community, the children learned about local history over the last 50 years in a classroom setting”.

The finale of the celebrations will be a ball held in Cardiff Golf Club on Saturday 26^th February, New Directions education have donated a raffle prize for the event and the money raised will be invested in the school and local community.

Anna Powell Account Manager at New Directions said of the event “I was really impressed with how imaginative the children and staff were in re-enacting the decades through classroom displays, costumes and themed celebrations”.
