Former Head Teacher from Ysgol Glan Clwyd cycles 630 miles
Pupils at Ysgol Glan Clwyd joined forces with their former head teacher to raise money for the World War One Memorial at Langenark in Belguim.
Meurig Rees former head teacher at Ysgol Glan Clwyd spent 9 days cycling from Bangor to Langenark, a distance of 630 miles. To support Meurig in his fundraising pupils at the school held a dress down day at the school wearing red, white and green in memory of the fallen soldiers of World War One. Pupils Hannah Burns and Steffan Jones presented Meurig with a cheque of £800 which the school had raised.
Sam Pilling, Account Manager from New Directions Education commented “It is great to see children living in the 21st century, respecting and raising money for a cause which happened nearly 100 years ago. The distance of 630 miles cycled by Meurig Rees is truly inspirational.
