We understand that your child’s welfare is of paramount importance, and the safety of you and your family is our absolute priority during this time.
Health and Safety Protocols Relating to COVID-19
We have implemented the following protocols to ensure that we are taking reasonable measures to minimise the risk of exposure to coronavirus on our premise.
Prior to sessions
- Health Declaration – you will be required to complete a COVID-19 Declaration on behalf of your child
- Contact Tracing – you will be required to ensure that you have provided New Directions Education with your up-to-date address and contact details
- Visiting our facility – you will only be permitted if you have a prearranged visit
- Arrival at our facility – when dropping off your child, physical distancing should be respected and maintained using outside space where suitable. On arrival reception will open the door for your child to gain access to the building. Staff will manage the number of people allowed to wait in reception and direct students to where they can safely wait
- Upon entering – temperature check will be carried out via a non-contact temperature gun, anyone who is displaying signs or symptoms that might suggest they are unwell will not be permitted to attend that session
- Hygiene – students will be encouraged to wash their hands for 20 seconds with soap before the session begins
- Physical distancing – signs and poster are in reception and through our facility to build awareness and maintain hygiene standards. Taped markings and footprint stickers are on the floor in reception to remind all visitors and students about social distancing
- Equipment – students should bring their own equipment including stationery and a water bottle which are all clearly labelled with their name
- Our request – we would ask that you speak with your child prior to the session, to ensure they are aware of the measures that we have in place
During sessions
- Physical distancing – we have taken reasonable measures to try to adhere to a 2-metre distance between all students throughout the session
- Toilets – the dedicated toilets for students in the session will only be permitted on an individual basis. Signs and posters of hygiene standards will be visible in the toilets. Sufficient handwashing stations are available and stocked with antibacterial hand soap
- Symptoms – if your child displays any signs or symptoms of infection, we will contact you immediately
- Hygiene – disposable tissues, hand sanitiser and a lined bin will be available throughout the facility
- PPE – personal protective equipment is not mandatory, but it is available for all students and staff if requested
Post sessions
- Hygiene – all surfaces and equipment will be cleaned after each session
- Physical distancing – those students who have written permission to leave unsupervised will leave reception staggered to adhere to social distancing measures. Parents/guardians collecting their child will be asked to respect and utilise the outside space where suitable. Students will wait in the facility to be collected. If a parent/guardian is late to collect their child, a designated ‘waiting zone’ will be created to allow those students to adhere to social distancing measures
- Feedback – if parents would like to discuss any queries with the tutor, this will be by appointment only. To arrange this, please contact [email protected]
Please note that the measures that we have put in place will be under constant review.
Thank you for your cooperation, and we hope that you and your family keep safe and well.
