As a Cover Teacher, you’ll play an essential role in ensuring that students continue to receive high-quality education during planned and unplanned teacher absences.

Responsibilities of the Cover Teacher include, but are not limited to:

• Deliver pre-planned lessons across various subjects and year groups.
• Maintain classroom management and ensure students stay engaged with their work.
• Build strong rapport with students and support their learning.
• Adapt to different schools and classrooms while ensuring a positive learning environment.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times.

Job Specifications for the Cover Teacher:

• Teach a variety of subjects as required, covering planned or emergency teacher absences.
• Create an engaging and structured learning atmosphere.
• Establish positive relationships with students and staff in different school settings.
• Ensure smooth lesson delivery and student progress.

Person Specification:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification.
• Experience in delivering lessons across various subjects and year groups is desirable.
• Strong communication and classroom management skills.
• Flexible, adaptable, and enthusiastic about supporting students in a variety of settings.
• Willingness to work in schools across the Gillingham area.
