Job Description

New Directions is working in partnership with a fantastic two-form entry primary school in Stockport, which is looking to welcome an enthusiastic Early Careers Teacher to join their team from September 2025. This is a full-time role for the full academic year, based in Lower Key Stage 2. The successful candidate will hold Qualified Teacher Status.

Early Careers Teacher Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports the emotional and academic development of all pupils.
  • Assess, monitor, and record pupils’ progress, providing feedback that supports continued growth and achievement.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of pupils, including those with SEND or EAL requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, including year group partners, teaching assistants, and senior leaders.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities, including attending training sessions and engaging with the school’s ECT induction and mentoring programme.
  • Foster strong relationships with parents and carers, maintaining open communication about pupil progress and wellbeing.
  • Manage behaviour effectively in line with the school’s behaviour policy to create a safe and respectful learning environment.
