Job Description

New Directions are seeking enthusiastic and motivated Graduate Teaching Assistants based in a school in Liverpool to support our teaching staff and contribute to positive learning environments. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates looking to start their careers in education or if you have worked or studied child related subjects.

As a teaching assistant, you will work closely with experienced educators and SEND professionals to create a nurturing and inclusive environment that addresses the unique needs of each student. This role not only allows you to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children and young people but also provides you with invaluable experience that will enhance your career in psychology, counselling, or educational support.

Responsibilities of the role included but are not limited to:

• Have excellent communication skills.
• Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with ASD
• Be able to build strong relationships with students and staff.
• Be encouraging and supportive.
• Have a positive attitude towards teaching and aiding children’s development.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of the student.
• Work and liaise with teachers, therapists, and parents to support student’s academic, social, and emotional development.
