New Directions Education are looking to recruit an enthusiastic History Teacher to work on supply across secondary schools within Flintshire, teaching to both key stage 3 and 4.

We are looking for someone who is passionate and innovative who can channel their enthusiasm and energy into developing engaging, innovative and imaginative lessons to drive pupil engagement and progress. The school provides a supportive learning environment with emphasis on student progression to help every student live up to their full potential while delivering engaging lessons.

Job Specification

If you are a newly qualified history teacher (NQT) or an experienced history teaching professional, our branches across the UK can help you find suitable supply jobs.

As a history teacher you’ll be expected to:

  • Teach all areas of the school curriculum or your subject specialism
  • Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment
  • Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges
  • Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation
  • Maintain discipline
  • Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development
  • Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
  • Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
  • Take part in school events and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening
  • Liaise with colleagues and working flexibly, particularly within smaller schools
