Are you an experienced learning support assistant looking for an exciting new opportunity in a fantastic secondary school in Marple? Do you have experience of supporting teaching and learning and look to make a difference to young people? If you are looking for full-time role, then New Directions would like to speak with you.
The role is to start as soon as possible on a full time basis. The school are looking to take the right candidate on permanently.
We have a range of FREE CPD training courses, from Safeguarding to Autism Awareness, which will teach you the relevant skills and attributes necessary for supporting children in our schools. We will also accept Healthcare, Social Care , Care Worker backgrounds!
Responsibilities of Learning Support Assistant include but are not limited to:
Have excellent communication skills.
Be able to build strong relationships with students and staff.
Be encouraging and supportive.
Have a positive attitude towards teaching and aiding children’s development.
Ensure the safety and well-being of the student.
Job Specification:
Supervise and provide learning support for students in small groups and on a one to one basis
Assist with the development of individual education and behavioural plans setting challenging expectations for pupils to achieve learning goals.
Establish trusting relationships with pupils and interact with them according to individual needs and personalities.
Encourage pupils to interact with the class and engage in activities.
Person Specification
Have experience working as a teaching assistant, learning support assistant with classroom based experience
Be outgoing, fun and engaging
Willing to support children of all abilities and needs
Have experience of behaviour management and de-escalation
Have a positive and ambitious attitude to learning
