Position: Part-Time Level 2 Teaching Assistant (Year 5)
Hours: Mornings Only (Immediate Start)
Duration: Until Summer 2025, with potential to continue into Year 6
Are you a dedicated and compassionate Level 2 Teaching Assistant looking to make a difference in a primary school setting? We are seeking a skilled individual to support a Year 5 student on a one-to-one basis at a welcoming school in the Wirral. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with a student who may benefit from additional support in their speech and language development, particularly those with selective mutism experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
– Provide one-to-one support for a Year 5 student, focusing on their educational and pastoral needs.
– Assist with the implementation of tailored learning plans to promote speech and language development.
– Foster a supportive and encouraging environment that helps the student feel comfortable and engaged.
– Collaborate closely with the class teacher and other staff members to track progress and adapt strategies as needed.
– Encourage social interactions and communication skills within the classroom setting.
Requirements:
– Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience.
– Previous experience working with children, particularly in one-to-one settings.
– Knowledge of speech and language support strategies; experience with selective mute children would be advantageous.
– A patient, empathetic approach with a passion for supporting children’s learning and emotional well-being.
– Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
