Job Description

New Directions Education are looking for a passionate and knowledgeable SEND Teaching to joint a school in Halton to support pupils with a range of special educational needs and/or disabilities.

The school is very low level behavior and enjoyable place to work. If successful, you will be required to support children who suffer with profound and multiple learning difficulties. Although the role is based around education support, due to the children’s personal needs, they require consistent mentoring, motivating as well as maintaining an empathetic approach.

Responsibilities of the role included but are not limited to:

  • Have excellent communication skills.
  • Be able to build strong relationships with students and staff.
  • Be encouraging and supportive.
  • Have a positive attitude towards teaching and aiding children development.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of the student.

Job Specification

  • Have experience working with children, or adults, with additional needs
  • Ideally hold a L2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • Able to support children of all abilities.
  • Have a positive and ambitious attitude to learning.
