Job Title: Media and Film Teacher Location: Manchester Salary: £650 – £1125 per week Contract Type: Full-time (9am – 4pm) Start Date: 22nd April 2025
About the Role: New Directions are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Media and Film Teacher to join one of our partner Colleges in Manchester. The successful candidate will have a passion for teaching and the ability to inspire students to develop their creative, analytical, and technical skills in both media and film studies.
As a Media and Film Teacher, you will teach a range of courses including A-Level Media Studies, Film Studies, and other relevant qualifications. You will create a positive learning environment, support students’ academic growth, and contribute to the continued success of the department.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons in Media and Film Studies.
Develop and implement creative curriculum content to meet the needs of diverse learners.
Provide constructive feedback and support to help students achieve their academic goals.
Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance.
Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of curriculum and teaching strategies.
Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
Stay updated on current trends in media and film, incorporating them into lessons where appropriate.
Person Specification:
A relevant degree in Media Studies, Film Studies, or a related field (PGCE or QTS is desirable but not essential).
Experience teaching Media and Film Studies at post-16 level (A-Level or equivalent).
Strong understanding of current media and film theory, production techniques, and industry trends.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage students with diverse learning styles.
A proactive and creative approach to teaching, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
