Teaching Assistant – ALN, Cardiff

Job Description

New Directions are looking for learning support assistants to work with additional learning needs schools and specialist units in Cardiff.

We are looking for those who are confident in working with additional learning needs such as emotional and behavioural difficulties, autism and complex needs.

You will work directly with pupils with additional learning needs to provide tailored support. You will need excellent communication skills as you will be working closely with teachers and other members of staff. You will also need to be patient and supportive to help create a positive environment where all students can thrive.

The role will allow you to be flexible so that you can be offered a work life balance as well as the opportunity to secure long term roles or day to day cover.

We are looking for candidates who have a minimum of 3 months experience working with children or have a child based qualification. We will also consider applicants who have worked in care settings with children.

You will need:

• A minimum of 3 months child-based experience
• Contactable references
• A DBS – or be willing to undertake one via New Directions
• A willingness to complete mandatory training when required
