We are currently looking to expand our team and are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant with experience in ALN to join our supportive staff. We are keen to hear from candidates who are based in the Vale of Glamorgan area.
Role Overview:
As a Teaching Assistant with Additional Learning Needs experience, you will play a key role in supporting the learning and development of students with various learning, social, and emotional needs. You will work closely with classroom teachers, special education staff, and families to provide tailored support, ensuring our students have the tools and opportunities to succeed in their academic and personal development.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one or small group support for students with ALN, both in and outside of the classroom.
Assist with the development and implementation of individual education plans.
Support students with behavioural, communication, and social needs, helping them engage with the curriculum.
Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to teachers and SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator).
Foster an inclusive classroom environment that promotes self-esteem and independence.
Collaborate with staff, parents, and external professionals to deliver high-quality care and learning.
Help manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies, promoting positive outcomes for all students.
Key Requirements:
Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, ideally working with students with Additional Learning Needs.
A genuine passion for working with children with special educational needs.
Knowledge of ALN strategies, including working with children with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, or speech and language delays (desirable).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, empathy, and a flexible approach to problem-solving.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
A relevant qualification in Special Educational Needs or Teaching Assistant (desirable but not essential).
