Job Description

Teaching Assistants and Care Workers Required

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people?

Do you have experience working in care but would like nicer working hours?

Do you have experience or a keen interest in working with students who need extra care and assistance? We are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate care workers to join our team and provide essential support to students within schools in The Vale of Glamorgan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and group support for students with Social, Emotional, Behavioural, and Mental Health needs.
  • Assist students with personal care needs, including hygiene, mobility, and ensuring their physical and emotional well-being throughout the school day.
  • Support classroom learning by helping students access their lessons, follow instructions, and engage with educational activities.
  • Promote inclusion within the classroom, encouraging positive social interactions and fostering a sense of belonging among all students.
  • Work closely with teachers and other school staff to implement care plans and contribute to students’ development and progress.
  • Supervise students during break times, lunchtime, and other non-classroom activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A genuine passion for working with children and young people, particularly those with additional learning needs.
  • Experience in a similar role (desirable but not essential) or willingness to undergo training.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with both students and staff.
  • Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • A commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive environment for all students.
  • A clear DBS check (or willingness to undergo one) and relevant safeguarding training.
